Midea M-Thermal Arctic HT R290 Mono fault P0

Low pressure protection

Heat pump

What it means

The system protects the refrigerant circuit from abnormally low suction pressure and protects the compressor from transient drops in pressure. When suction pressure (Pe) drops below 0.13MPa, the unit stops running and displays P0.

Likely causes

  1. Refrigerant leakage
  2. Abnormally low suction pressure
  3. Refrigerant system fault causing pressure drop

Where to start

  1. Check 'Unit Status-Operation parameter P1 comp. pressure & P2 comp. pressure' on the User Interface and confirm P1=P2 while unit is off; if not equal, replace low-pressure sensor
  2. If fan runs normally, check 'Unit Status-Operation parameter P1 comp. pressure' on the User Interface and compare with reference value in Discharge/Suction pressure and temperature range table in Appendix 4; if parameter on User Interface is lower than reference, suspect refrigerant leakage
  3. Measure suction pressure (Pe)

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
