Grant Aerona R32 fault P1

Pump error

Heat pump

What it means

Pump error caused by faulty pump, Main PCB, or a blocked/air-locked pump/water circuit.

Likely causes

  1. Faulty pump
  2. Main PCB fault
  3. Pump blocked or air-locked
  4. Water circuit restricted
  5. Motorised valve for space heating left open during DHW demand
  6. Grant wiring centre not used to isolate space heating demand during DHW
  7. Incorrect cylinder selected for heat pump output
  8. Thermal store set point reached (normal stop)
  9. Outgoing water temperature reaching protection limit (abnormal/protective stop)
  10. Low room air temperature
  11. Power cut lasting over 24 hours causes loss of day/time setting
  12. Low outdoor ambient air temperature
  13. Low flow water temperature
  14. Unit was transported or stored on its side or upside down

Where to start

  1. Check the voltage of Pump
  2. Check the pump and water circuit
  3. Turn OFF power supply completely before checking fan motor or pump terminal/connector

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
