Pump runs but delivers no water due to an air lock in the pipework.

Likely causes

  1. Air lock in pipework
  2. Air Locked
  3. Expansion and contraction of hot and cold-water pipework causing connections to work-loosen
  4. Internal component commissioning causing temporary odour
  5. Shaft seal run-in period causing moisture discharge
  6. Lime scale build-up from extended non-operation

Where to start

  1. Check for air locks, examine the pipework layout to check for high points
  2. Retighten connections that may have work-loosened during initial weeks/months of operation
  3. Check for small discharge of moisture from shaft seal during run-in period
