What it means

Hose connection leaking due to loose connection, differing remedy by pump model (STR2/SSR2 vs STP/SSP).

Likely causes

  1. Hose connection loose
  2. Leaks due to insufficient hose insertion depth
  3. Leaks due to under-tightened or incorrectly connected hoses
  4. Mechanical strain on pump from misaligned pipework
  5. Mechanical stress on pump from rigid pipe connection
  6. Leaks from use of jointing compound instead of correct hose connections

Where to start

  1. Check hose washers and strainer washers are fitted (STR2/SSR2)
  2. Check plastic nuts on hoses are tight (STR2/SSR2)
  3. Check hose connection is fully inserted to minimum depth of 33 mm (STP/SSP)
