Immergas Victrix fault 03

Flue safety thermostat block

Gas boiler

What it means

During normal operation, if a fault causes excessive flue gas overheating, the boiler blocks.

Likely causes

  1. Fault causing excessive flue gas overheating
  2. Boiler lockout condition triggered (specific cause not detailed in this section)
  3. Obstructed intake grids or exhaust terminals
  4. Poor terminal placement causing recirculation
  5. Obstructed or poorly positioned intake/exhaust terminals causing recirculation of flue gases into intake air
  6. Poor flue termination positioning causing recirculation
  7. Combustion air contaminated with chlorine, sulphur or powders
  8. Chemical substances stored in the installation area
  9. Installation in beauty salons, paint workshops, carpenter's shops, cleaning companies without a separated combustion air supply
  10. Combustion air fed through chimneys previously used with liquid or solid fuel boilers causing soot accumulation
  11. Drain trap not yet filled with condensate on first start-up
  12. Sprays, solvents, chlorine-based detergents, paints, glue, ammonium compounds, powders in combustion air supply
  13. Poor terminal positioning causing recirculation

Where to start

  1. Activate flue test (Par. 3.15)
  2. Detect the flue signal ΔP (Ref. 13 and 14, Fig. 38)
  3. Compare measured ΔP to the thresholds for the model to determine correct S1 value

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
