Immergas Victrix fault E61

Circulation pump alarm

Gas boiler

What it means

Pump detects an alarm condition, indicated by the pump's alarm symbol (1) lighting up red. Signalled on boiler display as E61.

Likely causes

  1. Low power supply voltage
  2. Rotor seized
  3. Electrical error in pump
  4. Air trapped inside the pump/circulator
  5. Air in central heating circuit
  6. Disconnected PWM signal wire (when boiler is requesting ignition but pump stays in stand-by)
  7. Disconnection of the PWM control signal between PCB and pump
  8. Boiler electronics not requesting pump ignition (normal, condition OK)
  9. Boiler electronics requesting pump ignition but pump not responding (faulty condition, probable disconnection of the PWM signal)
  10. Long period of inactivity causing pump/rotor seizure
  11. Lack of water in the appliance
  12. Little water circulation in the system
  13. Blocked pump
  14. Blocked pump (Par. 1.29)
  15. Drain trap not yet filled with condensate on first start-up, allowing combustion products to escape via condensate drain

Where to start

  1. Check pump symbol 1 (red) status on the pump head
  2. Check power supply voltage to the pump
  3. Check if rotor is seized by attempting manual release via centre screw

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
