Intergas HRE / Rapid / ECO RF fault 1
Temperature too high
Gas boilerWhat it means
Boiler has detected an excessively high temperature, often related to flow restriction or pump issues.
Likely causes
- Requested CH/DHW temperature reached
- Air in installation
- Pump not running
- Insufficient flow in installation, radiators closed, pump setting too low
- Isolation valves closed
- Room thermostat setting incorrect
- Temperature setting too low
- Outside sensor shortcircuit
- Pump not running correctly / pump setting too low
- No circulation in installation
- Boiler power not correctly set for installation
- Lime scale or fouling in heat exchanger
- Room thermostat / weather-dependent adjustment not closed or faulty
- No current (24V)
- Burner not firing on CH due to sensor S1 or S2 fault
- Burner does not ignite
- A different gas type is connected to the appliance than the one it was factory-set for
Where to start
- Check for air in the installation (bleed radiators)
- Check pump is running
- Check radiators/isolation valves are open

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
From the Intergas manual for the HRE / Rapid / ECO RF. Check the model on the data plate before you order parts.
