Vokera Pinnacle System fault E051
Smoke obstruction error high power
Gas boilerWhat it means
Transitory error indicating a smoke/flue gas obstruction detected at high power operation.
Likely causes
- Flue/smoke obstruction at high power
- Combustion conditions approaching upper emission limit
- Ionisation sensor signal indicating abnormal combustion
- System water pressure drop below required minimum value
- Fan speed fault
- Overheat detected by limit thermostat
- No flame signal detected
- Incomplete combustion or high emissions detected
- Flue gas threshold temperature exceeded
- Excess pressure in primary circuit
- Flue components not correctly assembled, fixed or supported
- Flue or flue terminal obstructed
- Damaged or missing flue seals
- Faulty or degraded seals around appliance burner
- Internal flue seal leakage
- Door or case seal leakage
- Incorrect combustion setup
- Combustion setup issue affecting low-fire operation
- Gas valve calibration fault at minimum rate
Where to start
- Check ionisation sensor condition and position in burner flame
- Check system water pressure against minimum required value
- Check fan speed sensor operation

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
