Daikin Altherma fault AC-00
Booster heater overheated
Heat pumpWhat it means
Triggered either when no booster heater thermal protector is installed and the bridge connection over the booster heater contact is NOT made, or when a booster heater thermal protector is installed and thermal protection of the booster heater is activated due to measured water temperature being too high.
Likely causes
- Water flow is too low
- Air in the water circuit
- Faulty refrigerant pressure sensor
- Poor water flow through high pressure side plate heat exchanger
- Incorrect refrigerant charge
- Wrong setting of [F-0D] pump operation
- Dirty water blocking the water filter
- NOT enough air purged from the system
- Air was purged from the water circuit after filling
- Water pump software control behaviour based on setting [F-0D]
Where to start
- If booster heater thermal protector is installed: check the water flow
- Check refrigerant pressure sensor
- Check high pressure side plate type heat exchanger for good water flow and heat exchange

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
From the Daikin manual for the Altherma. Check the model on the data plate before you order parts.
