Ideal Logic System IE fault F06
Outside sensor fault
Gas boilerWhat it means
Boiler has detected a fault with the outside temperature sensor.
Likely causes
- Outside sensor fault as referenced in Section 4.10
- Boiler mode set to Off on display
- CH Timer or Room Thermostat switched off
- Radiator valves closed
- No voltage supplied from Timer/Room Stat wiring (external fault)
- Missing link wire across OpenTherm connections when no OpenTherm Room Stat connected
- No 230V at SL2 IN when Outside Sensor connected
- Faulty wiring from terminal strip to PCB
- No voltage supplied from Timer/Room Stat to SL1 IN (external wiring fault, not boiler fault)
- Cylinder stat not calling for heat
- DHW timer switched off
- OFF shown under Tap symbol (DHW mode disabled)
- No 230V present at point (A)
- Outside Sensor wiring fault from terminal strip to PCB
- OFF shown under Tap symbol on display
- System controls or wiring fault
Where to start
- Refer to Section 4.10: Outside Sensor Fault
- Check if 'Off' is shown underneath the tap on the display
- Check if CH Timer and Room Thermostat are switched on

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
