Ideal Logic System IE fault F5
Return thermistor fault
Gas boilerWhat it means
Fault detected with the return thermistor.
Likely causes
- Faulty Return Thermistor
- Loss of continuity between PCB and Thermistor
- Faulty wiring
- Return thermistor fault
Where to start
- Remove the Return Thermistor from the CH Return Pipe and disconnect the wires.
- Check the resistance using a suitable multimeter connected across the thermistor's terminal pins.
- Is the Thermistor value correct? If NO, fit a new Thermistor.

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
