Mitsubishi Ecodan fault 2

'please wait' remains displayed on main remote controller

Heat pump

What it means

The remote controller stays on the 'Please Wait' screen beyond the normal startup period, which can indicate communication failure between the remote controller and FTC, or between FTC and outdoor unit, identified by the percentage value shown below 'Please Wait'.

Likely causes

  1. Fault with the main remote controller circuit board
  2. Communication failure between the main remote controller and FTC
  3. Communication failure between FTC and outdoor unit

Where to start

  1. If '0%' or '50-99%' is displayed below 'Please Wait', there is a communication error between the main remote controller and the FTC control board: check wiring connections on the main remote controller
  2. If '1-49%' is displayed, there is a communication error between the outdoor unit's and FTC's control boards: check wiring connections on outdoor unit control board and FTC control board
  3. Ensure S1 and S2 are not cross-wired and S3 is securely wired with no damage (see Field Wiring section)

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
