Ideal Logic System IE Gen 2 fault F03
Fan fault
Gas boilerWhat it means
Fault related to the fan operation, requires diagnostic procedure in Section 4.7.
Likely causes
- CO/CO2 ratio greater than 0.004 indicating combustion deposits or fouling
- Debris or deposits in heat engine/sump outlet
- Damaged electrode affecting combustion
- Condensate trap blockage or drying out
- Combustion deposits building up on heat exchanger
- Debris in sump outlet or condensate trap
- Damaged or worn electrode affecting spark gap
- Water or gas joint leakage
Where to start
- Light the boiler and carry out pre-service check, noting operational faults
- Check flue terminal (and terminal guard if fitted) is undamaged and clear of obstruction
- Connect flue gas analyser to flue gas sampling point and measure CO and CO2 at maximum rate, then repeat at minimum rate

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
