Ideal Logic System IE Gen 2 fault F06

Outside sensor fault

Gas boiler

What it means

Fault related to the outside temperature sensor, requires diagnostic procedure in Section 4.10.

Likely causes

  1. Boiler mode set to Off on display
  2. CH Timer or Room Thermostat switched off
  3. Radiator valves closed
  4. No voltage supplied from Timer/Room Stat wiring (external fault)
  5. Missing link wire across OpenTherm connections when no OpenTherm Room Stat connected
  6. No 230V at SL2 IN when Outside Sensor connected
  7. Faulty wiring from terminal strip to PCB
  8. No voltage supplied from Timer/Room Stat to SL1 IN (external wiring fault, not boiler fault)
  9. Cylinder stat not calling for heat
  10. DHW timer switched off
  11. OFF shown under Tap symbol (DHW mode disabled)
  12. No 230V present at point (A)
  13. Outside Sensor wiring fault from terminal strip to PCB
  14. OFF shown under Tap symbol on display

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
