LG Therma V fault CH03
Bad communication between remote controller and indoor unit
Heat pumpWhat it means
No communication between Main PCB (Indoor) and wired remote controller.
Likely causes
- Incorrect cable connection and burnout
- Noise interference
- Wired remote controller burnout
- Main PCB burnout
- Remote control terminal block not properly connected
- Intermediate connection formed by twisting inner wire strands without soldering
- Communication line shorted or disconnected
- Main PCB(Indoor) CN-REMO voltage not present (fault on Main PCB)
- Noise near wired remote control or communication line
Where to start
- Check if wired remote control connector and terminal block are properly connected; if not, reconnect to CN-REMO for wired remote controller (connector, terminal terminal)
- Check if the specifications of the wired remote controller cable are recommended; if not, replace cable (use AWG 24, 3 or higher)
- Check if the communication line is normal without short circuit or disconnection; if not, replace cable

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
From the LG manual for the Therma V. Check the model on the data plate before you order parts.
