LG Therma V fault CH29
PCBA OK (fault finding function result)
Heat pumpWhat it means
Result code output by the manual fault diagnostic function indicating the PCB assembly (inverter PCB) tested OK during the diagnostic sequence.
Likely causes
- Overload operation (Plugging blocked / shielded / EEV failure / excessive refrigerant)
- Compressor burnout (insulation breakdown / motor burnout)
- Input voltage low voltage
- Inv PCB (Outdoor) burnout
- Fan locked
- Obstruction/shield around the heat exchanger
- Insufficient distance between product and wall
- Piping condition issues such as pipe bending
- EEV operation/connection status fault
- Abnormal refrigerant pressure
- Compressor restraint
- Compressor wiring reverse phase loss
- Short circuit or opening of internal connection line in compressor
- Compressor winding resistance out of spec
- Compressor insulation resistance failure
- Inverter PCB assembly or connector connection fault
- IGBTM failure
Where to start
- Enter functions using LGMV (PC or Mobile)
- Perform a diagnostic function via LGMV
- Check if the product installation is in good condition: check if the fan is locked, check the shield around the heat exchanger, check the distance between the product and the wall, check the condition of piping such as bending of the pipe, check EEV operation status and connection status, check refrigerant pressure. If No: remove the cause of the abnormality.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
From the LG manual for the Therma V. Check the model on the data plate before you order parts.
