Midea R32 M thermal Arctic Mono fault HE

Communication error between main board and thermostat transfer board

Heat pump

What it means

Error code 53. Communication error between main board and thermostat transfer board detected by user interface and refrigerant system main PCB.

Likely causes

  1. Communication wiring fault
  2. Main board fuse damaged/blown
  3. Hydronic box main PCB fault
  4. Damaged cables between hydronic box main PCB and outdoor unit main PCB
  5. Outdoor unit main PCB fault
  6. Incorrect or abnormal input power supply (N or L)
  7. Wires not fully inserted into connectors

Where to start

  1. Step 1: Check if water flow switch connection (CN8) on hydronic system main PCB is loose
  2. Step 2: If connection is fine, check the water flow via wired controller spot check flow after water pump is switched on
  3. Step 1: Check if phase sequence of 3-phase power supply is incorrect
