Midea R32 M thermal Arctic Mono fault HF
Refrigerant system EEPROM error
Heat pumpWhat it means
Error code 54. Refrigerant system EEPROM error detected by user interface and refrigerant system main PCB.
Likely causes
- Refrigerant system main PCB EEPROM is not connected properly. Refrigerant system main PCB damaged.
- EEPROM fault
- Hydronic box main PCB fault
- Main board fuse damaged/blown
- Insufficient refrigerant caused by refrigerant leakage
- Low pressure side blocked by crushed or bent pipe, blocked EXV, or dirty filter
- Poor air side heat exchanger heat exchange in heating or DHW mode
- Insufficient water flow rate in cooling mode
- Outdoor main PCB fault (last resort)
- Inverter module damaged
- Damaged cables between hydronic box main PCB and outdoor unit main PCB
- Outdoor unit main PCB fault
- Incorrect or abnormal input power supply (N or L)
Where to start
- Verify refrigerant system EEPROM is connected properly.
- Verify refrigerant system EEPROM is not connected properly. If yes, ensure the EEPROM is connected properly. If no, replace refrigerant system main PCB.
- Check if refrigerant system EEPROM is not connected properly. Check if refrigerant system EEPROM is not connected properly. If not connected properly, ensure the EEPROM is connected properly. If connected properly, replace refrigerant system main PCB.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
