Midea R32 M thermal Arctic Mono fault L0

Inverter module protection

Heat pump

What it means

Inverter module protection detected by refrigerant system main PCB. Displayed as P6/H4 on user interface.

Likely causes

  1. Communication wire not connected properly
  2. Inverter module damaged
  3. Voltage between F0 and GND too low
  4. Inverter module has overheated
  5. Inverter module over-current
  6. Inverter module failure
  7. Outdoor unit ventilation is not good
  8. Inverter module fault

Where to start

  1. Measure the resistance between each of U, V and W and each of P and N on the inverter module. All resistances should be infinite. Refer to Figure 4-3.5 to 4-3.7 in Part 4, 3.1
  2. Measure normal resistances of inverter compressor: 0.7-1.5Ω among U V W and infinite between each of U V W and ground
  3. Check communication wire between refrigerant system main control board and inverter module (4 pins) for proper connection

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
