Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault F12

Outdoor high pressure switch activate

Heat pump

What it means

During operation of cooling and heating, when pressure 4.3 MPa and above is detected by outdoor high pressure switch.

Likely causes

  1. Pressure switch fault
  2. Insufficient water flow rate in system
  3. Excessive refrigerant
  4. Faulty outdoor high pressure sensor and switch
  5. Excess insertion of refrigerant
  6. Dirty condenser, attachment of impurity
  7. Lack of refrigerant gas

Where to start

  1. Check pressure switch operation
  2. If no short circuit, check the system water pump. If the water pump is not working, replace the faulty water pump and/or replace outdoor high pressure sensor.
  3. If water pump is working, check the system water flow rate. If the water pump speed is not adjusted according to system hydraulic external static pressure, readjust the water pump speed and/or replace outdoor high pressure sensor.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
