Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault F24

Refrigeration cycle abnormality

Heat pump

What it means

Detected during operation running (heating/cooling) for more than 5 minutes (excluding deice, pumpdown and test mode) when: water outlet and water inlet temperature difference is less than 1°C; high pressure < 1.90MPa (275 Psi) for more than 10 minutes or < 1.6MPa (232 Psi) for more than 4 minutes; or discharge temperature minus saturation temperature of high pressure is ≥ 60°C.

Likely causes

  1. Insufficient refrigerant
  2. Refrigerant shortage (refrigerant leakage)
  3. Faulty indoor water inlet, indoor water outlet, compressor discharge temp sensor or high pressure sensor
  4. Excess insertion of refrigerant
  5. Dirty condenser, attachment of impurity
  6. Lack of refrigerant gas

Where to start

  1. Check refrigerant charge
  2. If sensor conforms, check the pressure sensor value against actual reading
  3. If pressure sensor value and actual mismatched, replace the pressure sensor

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
