Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault H62

Water flow switch abnormality

Heat pump

What it means

During operation of cooling and heating, the water flow detected by the indoor water flow switch is used to determine water flow error.

Likely causes

  1. Heat pump error triggering backup heat source requirement
  2. Low water flow rate in the system
  3. Water pump malfunction
  4. Air trapped in water circuit
  5. Faulty water pump
  6. Faulty water flow switch
  7. Heat pump error during normal operation triggers automatic switch to force mode
  8. Flow switch fault or no flow detected
  9. Vacuum pump oil backflow into charge hoses without proper prevention
  10. Removing refrigerant pipes while compressor is running and valve is open

Where to start

  1. If pump working, check the system water passage: is there any water leakage? If Yes, fix the system water leakage.
  2. If connector normal, check the indoor water flow switch: plug out connector from the indoor unit PCB (main), dismantle the water flow switch, position the water flow switch in reverse direction (downward), measure the continuity of the water flow switch.
  3. Verify water pump turns ON immediately upon indoor unit ON request

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
