Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault H64

Outdoor high pressure abnormality

Heat pump

What it means

During operation of cooling and heating, when the outdoor high pressure sensor output signal is 0 Vdc or 5 Vdc.

Likely causes

  1. Abnormal high voltage detection (5V) at pressure sensor
  2. Open circuit detection (0V) at pressure sensor
  3. Faulty high pressure sensor or wiring
  4. Actual high refrigerant pressure condition
  5. Excess insertion of refrigerant
  6. Dirty condenser, attachment of impurity
  7. Lack of refrigerant gas

Where to start

  1. If connector normal, check the continuity of the outdoor unit PCB (main) high pressure sensor connector CN-HPS: plug out connector from the outdoor unit PCB (main), measure the continuity pin 1 & 3 (GND) and pin 1 & 4 (5V) of CN-HPS.
  2. Check high pressure sensor output voltage
  3. If No continuity, reconnect the high pressure sensor connector to the outdoor unit PCB (main). Turn ON the power and run the system. Measure the DC voltage pin 1 & 3 (GND) of CN-HPS.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
