Ideal Logic Air fault 7

No heat pump starts exceeded

Heat pump

What it means

The number of heat pump start attempts has exceeded the allowed limit.

Likely causes

  1. Repeated failed start attempts
  2. Underlying fault preventing successful start
  3. Frost accumulation on evaporator due to outdoor humidity/temperature conditions
  4. Electrical interference from inadequate cable separation
  5. Water ingress from improperly routed cables or loose cable glands
  6. Dwelling room temperature dropped to ≤8°C
  7. Inadequate corrosion inhibitor dosing leading to gradual system performance deterioration
  8. Missing or undersized system filter allowing debris into primary circuit
  9. Dwelling ambient temperature at or below 8°C
  10. Ambient air temperature at or below 1°C
  11. Refrigerant leak from circuit

Where to start

  1. Read Primary flow temp, Hot water temp, Outside temp, Primary water flow, Compressor %, CH1 Pump, CH2 Pump, Diverter valve, Immersion heater status directly from home screen to verify system operation
  2. Identify 'Alarm' symbol to indicate a plant error
  3. Identify 'Maintenance/Special operations' symbol for maintenance message or special operation feedback

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
